Octagon Finance is set to become the local market leader with more than £20m of Private Finance deals currently in circulation. We offer a bespoke service, ensuring that we meet both customer and lender personally in order to determine the requirements behind every individual deal. We have, on average, £5m of private funds available to lend each month.

Peer to Peer Lending is a widely used option which has been available for decades. However, with the advent of more internet-based lenders who are willing to match customers to lenders, the personal touch has begun to disappear.

At Octagon Finance this is not the case. Private finance can be a cost-effective way of making a purchase in the short term, including buying property for development and resale. It is also a method of providing finance for individuals who may not meet the lending criteria of high street banks but who wish to secure property at short notice. When applying for private finance it is important that borrowers have an exit strategy since private finance is not a long-term solution.

This makes a deal more flexible and cost-effective due to minimal entry and exit fees and penalties. This type of lending is also a quick and easy way of achieving flexible finance without the need for bank bureaucracy. All the costs are built into the interest rate and not included in the fees which are often traditionally bolted on, making private finance a viable option for many people.

Interest rates for this type of finance are variable depending on the risk profile of the lender and the security. Low risk deals start at 6% per annum and a typical loan to value ratio of 70% is the maximum allowed. Repayment terms can be as flexible as required and generally range from 6 months to 60 months, with interest paid monthly or rolled up and paid on discharge along with the capital.
